The Kerenhappuch Norman Chapter celebrated its 75th
anniversary on April 26 at the Lubbock Women’s Club with a
luncheon and an historical program presented by Carolyn
Sowell on the history of the chapter. When the chapter was
notified that many of the state/national officers had
contracted the A1 flu in Washington, they thought all might
be lost! However, Honorary State President Marsha Richards
(Texas State President 2017-2019) escaped the flu and
attended as a special guest with her Presidential Page,
Ashleigh Prevear, a student at Texas Tech. Former Chapter
Registrar Danella Dickson traveled from Dallas to celebrate
with the Kerenhappuch Norman Chapter. After anniversary cake
and Carolyn Sowell’s presentation, the chapter installed
officers for the 2019-2021 term. HSP Richards brought
greetings and conducted the installation. |

The Star of Destiny Chapter enjoyed a Spring Luncheon on May 4, 2019, which
coincided with our organizational meeting four years ago. We were pleased to
welcome State President Sharon Allen who spoke about plans for the coming year and
installed new Chapter officers.
The Star of Destiny theme for the new term was introduced:
Dream big, Sparkle more, Shine bright. - Emma Azzopardi
Our new motto is:
Following our destiny with grace, honor, and commitment
Following our destiny, we’re looking forward to another great year.

A Committee Orientation Day was conducted on May 25, 2019, by
the Star of Destiny Chapter at the South Branch of the Denton
Public Library. Chairs and members of all committees were
invited to participate.
A first-of-its-kind, the Orientation covered basic knowledge
about the National Society and how the committee structure is
formed. Information was included about the State Society as well
as the history of the Star of Destiny Chapter. Other valuable
information about Dames membership was covered such as insignia,
how it is bought, worn, and reported.
The National, State, and Chapter Bylaws were reviewed as
they pertain to committees. Notebooks were prepared and
distributed to all attendees, and it is hoped these will become
a reference book for all committee chairs. Specific information
about each committee was included in the book with notations as
to authority provided, performance expected, and goals set.
The meeting was well attended, and chairs were enthusiastic
about their appointments and anxious to get started on the
accomplishment of their responsibilities. |
